The Bread & Butter Off
We spent a fabulous Sunday afternoon at Countertalk’s Bread and Butter Off at 40ft Brewery in Walthamstow, where seven incredible London bakeries and restaurants competed for the title of best bread and butter. We were able to sample all seven bakeries, armed with our ballot cards, while enjoying our bread and butter old fashioneds (the welcome cocktail) and butter flavoured Kerrygold soft-serve ice cream.
The ensuing food coma was uncomfortable, but so worth it.

Mine - the @angelina.london Hokkaido milk bread with kumquat and burnt honey butter
Tom’s - @portlandrestaurant black treacle soda bread with whey butter and hay hollandaise
Haruki’s - @thefatbadger_w10 soda bread with smoked bacon butter, which he proceeded to smear all over his head and screamed when we tried to take it away he loved it so much
